First of all, I just wanted to thank everyone who has downloaded my book – The Dark Maiden – over the last two days so far. Hurry though, the offer is still running until the 9th of April. Download The Dark Maiden on the Kindle app FOR FREE (any reviews left on Amazon would be awesome, thank you).
Anyhoo, I’ll admit that my first year of uni really hasn’t been what I had expected at all. I had loved it and hated it and then loved it some more. The fact of the matter is though that I’m actually really glad that it’s finished and I’m all ready for second year. Bring it on, how hard can it be? Ah, ok. I know that second year will be hard and third year will be even worse, but it’s all about pushing through, right? Whether people like to hear it or not, go into uni being as selfish as you possibly can. Hey, it worked for me during first year – I turned down friends’ offers to go to dancing in an overcrowded pub every Thursday (I limited myself with how many times I went), or even frequent trips to town so that I could get everything I needed to do done and dusted. I mean come on, I’m not that boring. Girls just wanna have fun, am I right or am I right?). But the point is….I got all of my work done and ended up having so much free time that I managed to finally start my blog, publish my book on Kindle (paperback of The Dark Maiden will be available on the 1st of June 2017) and catch up on one heck of a TBR book list of mine. Oh, it keeps on growing, trust me when I tell you that.
Moving away from the whole idea of uni though, because I feel I have exhausted myself with how much I can really say about my eat, read, sleep and repeat routine; I’m so excited for the rest of Spring and of course Summer. Maybe I’m getting too excited for summer a little too early? I have so much planned over the holidays it’s not even funny. With my book coming to paperback (only available on Amazon Kindle app at the moment), editing of the other three books I’ve written; work and hella loads of studying of German, I’ll be having quite a packed spring and summer. Hard work pays off though. That doesn’t mean that I’ll be cutting my blog or Instagram some slack, no I hope to be filling it with plenty of posts over my time back at home. Stay tuned for that, boy am I looking forward to the holidays because of it.
I have some great news. My debut novel The Dark Maiden will be returning to Amazon very soon! After quite the break, which had allowed me to rethink the meaning of life and self-publishing, I’ve decided to go back to what I do best (since I’m not really good at anything else!). I’m really excited to re-published my book, the all-new, upgraded; polished version. I decided to return to self-publishing after realizing that I love having the freedom that self-publishing offers you and, quite frankly, I don’t think I would want to publish any other way. My books are my business and my business is my books. I really do love writing, it isn’t about the money at the end of the day – or really about how many sales you make. It’s about why you had made x amount of sales – I want to go back to writing for and entertaining people, to share the stories that are just bubbling up inside of me and waiting to explode.
So, there’s my fantastic news. I hope you thought so, at least. Can’t wait to finally get going with my writing again.
Lots of love,
I hope you’re all having a fabulous morning. Two weeks left of my first year of Uni means two things – more time to write and more time to do just about everything else I want to do (well, that’s clearly more than two things. I’ve never been the brightest with numbers but, meh). Aaanyway, with the holidays coming up soon I’ll be returning to my ‘Home Sweet Home’ where I can take pictures in fine Southern weather and blog about just how ‘fine’ the weather actually is – ah, I’ll definitely have much more interesting things to blog about. Honestly, this is just the start up I swear, stay with me.
Now, on to the actual blog! This is the second day it’s been up and running and trust me, there will be either a picture of coffee or an entire post on coffee here somewhere. It’s all still new and exciting to me (let’s hope that excitement doesn’t fade soon, I’ve waited ages to finally start blogging). So yes, a blog, Instagram and Facebook – wow, I’ll be needing a lot of time on my hands. It’s a good thing I’m really good at managing my time then, even so I’ll aim to update my blog two to three times a week; I feel every single day may be overkill at this early stage in my blog. Besides, I need to deliver quality posts, ones that don’t look or sound like they’ve been scribbled down onto a piece of tissue or something! I mean, if you want daily posts, that’s where Instagram comes in handy (check out my Instagram Page @lady_a_j_t).
I post daily, or at least try to, on Instagram so fear not if my blog is looking a little bare at the moment. Baby steps, baby steps. I’ve added loads of new content onto the other sections of my blog too, so don’t forget to take a peek at them as well.
I suppose the best thing to write about in my first blog post is why I had even decided to start a blog in the first place. Well, one thing you should know about me is that I can’t just get in front of a video recorder and start blabbering on for minutes on end so…that was a YouTube Channel off the list. Then I thought, why not create a page on Instagram? That’s going great so far, it doesn’t require me to talk in front of a camera (if you haven’t checked out my Instagram page, @lady_a_j_t, then errr…please do). Then, the mighty THEN, I finally decided to create this blog after only God knows how many years of me telling myself that I’ll finally start one.
Now disclaimer, people, this whole blog is literally just a lifestyle blog filled with things that, well you know, happen in my life. I’ll be adding in all of the shenanigans that I may get into (or hadn’t gotten into but, really, really wished I had). Yup! That pretty much sums up why I had decided to finally make a blog, any other questions?
